  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A refreshing and fruity Chilled Peach Moscato Sangria that combines fresh berries and stone fruits with sweet Moscato wine and a splash of triple sec for a perfect summer drink. Lightly topped with ginger ale for a fizzy finish, this sangria is easy to prepare and ideal for gatherings or relaxing warm days.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 6 ounces fresh raspberries (around 1 cup, with extra for topping)
  • 16 ounces fresh strawberries (2 cups, hulled and sliced, with extra for topping)
  • 2 ripe peaches, nectarines, or oranges (sliced)

Liquids

  • 1 chilled 750 ml bottle of Moscato (white or pink)
  • 1/2 cup triple sec or Chambord
  • 1/2 cup peach or pineapple juice
  • Ginger ale, soda water, or ginger beer (to top)

Instructions

  1. Add Fresh Fruit: Begin by adding the fresh raspberries, sliced strawberries, and sliced peaches, nectarines, or oranges to the bottom of a large pitcher, layering the fruits evenly.
  2. Pour Liquids: Slowly pour in the chilled bottle of Moscato wine, followed by the triple sec or Chambord and the peach or pineapple juice over the fruit in the pitcher.
  3. Combine Flavors: Gently stir the mixture to combine all the flavors without breaking up the fruit too much, ensuring an even infusion.
  4. Chill Sangria: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and develop fully.
  5. Optional Longer Chill: For deeper infusion, allow the sangria to chill overnight in the refrigerator, but do not exceed 24 hours to prevent the fruit from becoming overly soggy.
  6. Serve Sangria: When ready to serve, pour the sangria into wine glasses until about three-quarters full, making sure to include some of the soaked fruit pieces in each glass.
  7. Add Fizz: Top each glass with ginger ale, club soda, or ginger beer to add a refreshing fizz and balance the sweetness.

Notes

  • Use ripe and fresh fruits for the best flavor infusion.
  • The choice of Moscato (white or pink) can slightly alter the flavor profile.
  • Do not leave the sangria chilling for more than 24 hours to keep the fruit fresh and prevent bitterness.
  • For a lighter version, opt for soda water instead of ginger ale or ginger beer.
  • Adjust the amount of triple sec or Chambord according to your preference for sweetness and alcohol content.
