  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and flavorful Ground Beef and Spinach Skillet dish topped with crumbled feta cheese and fresh parsley. This hearty and nutritious one-pan meal combines savory ground beef with fresh spinach and Mediterranean spices, perfect for a wholesome weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the aromatics: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking them for 3–4 minutes until they are soft and release a fragrant aroma.
  2. Cook the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it browns. Continue cooking for about 5–7 minutes until fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add the spinach and spices: Stir in the chopped spinach, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 3–4 minutes until the spinach wilts and all the flavors meld together.
  4. Finish with feta cheese: Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese evenly over the top. Allow the residual heat to gently soften and melt the feta into the mixture.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the skillet and serve the dish warm. Enjoy it as is or alongside crusty bread for a satisfying meal.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or lamb for a different flavor.
  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when cooking the onions and garlic.
  • Serve with warm pita bread or over cooked rice or quinoa for a fuller meal.
  • Make sure to drain excess fat from the beef to keep the skillet from becoming greasy.
  • Fresh spinach can be replaced with baby spinach or kale if preferred.
