Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
Cheeses
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
Protein & Veggies
- 1 cup cooked ground sausage (mild or spicy, crumbled)
- 1 4 oz can diced green chiles, drained
Seasonings
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Garnish & Serving
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
- Crackers, tortilla chips, or bread slices (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a medium baking dish or cast-iron skillet to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until it is browned and crumbly. Drain off any excess grease to keep the dip from becoming too oily.
- Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add Cheese & Flavor: Fold in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, shredded pepper jack cheese, cooked sausage, drained diced green chiles, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Bake: Spread the prepared dip mixture evenly into the greased baking dish. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
- Serve Hot: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with crackers, tortilla chips, or slices of bread for dipping.
Notes
- You can adjust the spice level by increasing or omitting the cayenne pepper.
- For a milder version, use mild sausage and omit the cayenne pepper.
- This dip can be prepared in advance and baked just before serving.
- Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and can be reheated in the oven or microwave.
- Substitute ground turkey for sausage for a leaner protein option.
