Description

This Thanksgiving Chocolate Oreo Pie is a luscious no-bake dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust filled with a creamy, fluffy chocolate and cream cheese filling. Perfect for holiday gatherings, it combines the rich flavors of chocolate and Oreo cookies in a smooth, chilled pie that’s easy to prepare and sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale

For the crust:

  • 24 Oreo cookies (regular, not Double Stuf)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the filling:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

For garnish (optional):

  • Crushed Oreos
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Whipped cream swirls

Instructions

  1. Make the crust: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. Mix the crumbs with the melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Place the crust in the refrigerator to chill while preparing the filling.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stir in the melted and slightly cooled chocolate chips and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and the mixture is uniform in color.
  3. Fold in the whipped topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the chocolate mixture using a spatula until no streaks remain. The filling should be light and fluffy to ensure a creamy texture.
  4. Assemble the pie: Pour the prepared filling into the chilled Oreo crust. Use a spatula to smooth the top evenly, ensuring it is level and attractive.
  5. Chill & set: Cover the pie loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the filling to firm up properly before serving.
  6. Decorate & serve: Just before serving, garnish the pie with optional crushed Oreos, chocolate shavings, and whipped cream swirls for a festive and indulgent presentation. Slice and serve chilled for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Room-temperature cream cheese: Letting it soften helps ensure a smooth filling without lumps.
  • Make ahead: This pie is perfect for prepping the night before Thanksgiving to allow ample chilling time.
  • Storing leftovers: Keep the pie tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain freshness and texture.
  • Use regular Oreos, not Double Stuf, for the crust to achieve the right texture and flavor balance.
  • Ensure the melted chocolate is slightly cooled before mixing to prevent curdling the cream cheese.
